| Whilst AMDB pursues its business commitment, AMDB acknowledge its responsibilities to the community as well as the environment it operates in. The best way to fulfil its responsibilities for the welfare of the society at large is through sustained and focused collaboration with a non-governmental organisation.
AMDB has chosen Malaysian Liver Foundation, http://www.liver.org.my/, a non-profit charitable organization which is dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of liver, gallbladder and pancreatic disease through education, training and medical research. The collaboration will involve AMDB participating and contributing to various events, campaigns and activities of Malaysian Liver Foundation in various forms such as donations, sponsorships and staff volunteer.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) organized the Environmental Awareness Project from 13 March to 14 March 2010. Amcorp via its subsidiary AMDB Berhad took the opportunity to show our support for the good cause undertaken by these young and vibrant university students.
The seminar addressed key issues on the environment and the university’s CSR efforts towards preserving the environment. Other universities and colleges in Malaysia were also invited to the event. Road tours were also done with the co-operation of the Malaysian Nature Society. Participants are educated of the importance of preserving the environment.
Together with other corporate sponsors, AMDB had sponsored the seminar bags for the participants of this event.
We are delighted to have contributed towards enhancing awareness in the preservation of the environment.
We hope that education will lead the way to fostering green society.

Visit To Siri Jayanti Welfare Home |
|
| DATE : |
26 Feb 2010 |
|
| ACTIVITIES : |
AMBC Transmission Sdn Bhd (AMBCT) made a visit to Siri Jayanti Welfare Home on 26th Feb 2010, which also coincided with the 13th day of the Chinese New Year. The home is located in No. 2 Jalan Perusahaan 1, Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. This home is open to neglected and impoverished senior citizens who are above the age of 60 but are still mobile.
Mr KL Tan, who is one of the committee members managing the home, said that the residents are always very happy to welcome visitors as it gives them a bit of excitement in their daily lives.
They first started in Jalan Ampang where they only had 3 residents but moved to the current rented location in 2004. Today, they have 17 residents living in the home. The place was airy and quite large, with each room being shared by 3 or 4 residents.
AMBCT brought along three hampers together with some face towels for the residents’ use. Each resident was also given an angpow and a piece of face towel, whereas the hamper goodies were to be shared amongst all of them in the home.
It was a heartwarming moment, to see the look of joy on the faces of the residents when they receive the token gifts, and for them to know that they have not been forgotten by the public even though they may be old or fragile.

Used handphone/ Charger/ Battery Recycling |
|
| DATE : |
Jun 09 to Dec 09 |
|
| ACTIVITIES : |
Action was taken to create awareness amongst staff members of the dangers posed by the simple act of disposing used handphones, chargers and batteries as normal trash. Staff are reminded to instead bring these items to the office and deposit them into a dedicated collection box
Items collected can then be sent to the proper recycling agency. Staff members have responded extremely well and we are most happy to see our collection box filling up with used batteries. Together, we have successfully prevented the harmful metals and chemicals contained in these batteries from leaking into the environment, had they been treated as normal waste. |
